This image is from an ongoing series I started a few years ago entitled "Photoforms" The aim was to capture light in a pure and simple form and create shapes and compositions using light boxes and various masks. I find it interesting to return to past projects or ideas and see how they progress some time later through fresh eyes. Hopefully in the next few months I will return to do more.



I went to see a Lygia Pape exhibition at Serpentine Gallery in 2011. She was a Brazilian artist and part of the Concrete and Neo Concrete movement in 1950's and 60's. I was struck by her use of geometry and often by the simplicity of the work. I was happy to see a parallel (no pun intended) with my work above and her installation Tteia.
